Dam It Purge Plugs (made in USA)
Designed by welders, for welders, in the USA
Every TIG welder faces the same issue when working with stainless steel pipe welding where purge gases are being used.
How the hell do you plug the pipe to ensure a good purge and not waste expensive inert gas?
Our team of welders at Commercial Welding LLC are some of the best TIG welders in Colorado.
Recently, we completed a project where we installed 10,000 LF stainless steel pipe (3” - 16” diameter, SCH 10). Our team used all kinds of crazy ways to plug the pipe so we could properly purge the pipe and deliver x-ray quality welds.
Nerf footballs and basketballs. Cardboard and tape. Black foam that could be cut to size. Expensive bladder plugs. You name it we used it.
While the project was successful, we vowed to never do another large project with these “redneck” solutions.
Starting with a clean piece of paper, we decided what was needed: an easy-to-use, durable purge plug system
After 2 years of designing, prototyping, and real-world testing, we have launched Dam-It Purge Plugs.
These food-grade silicone plugs provide TIG welders with the features they want:
Easy to use - plugs fit tightly but are easy to remove.
Functional design - Openings for gas lines work with and without a coupling; vent holes at the top of the back plug ensure purge gas completely fill the pipe and push out lighter gases.
Every pipe dimension - We have options for every standard pipe diameter and schedule, from 1” to 24”, Schedule 10 to Schedule 80, with custom solutions available.
Quality material - We use food grade silicone so the plugs can be used in any application, including process piping. The material can handle the hottest of welding environments with no melting or damage.
Convenient options - The multi-diameter plug combines three common pipe dimensions into a single plug, making it more convenient.
Made in USA - Buying a product designed and manufactured in the USA helps keep fellow blue-collar workers employed.
